AI and Corpus Based Material Task: I'm Back!!

Hello everyone! After around 5 months, I'm back with yet another post, another assignment. This was an assignment for our Current Issues in Teaching class, and as obvious by the title, it was a material preparation task that utilizes Corpus and AI. To explain it briefly, we had to prepare a worksheet that enabled the learners to use corpus and genAI to complete certain tasks about "since" and "for." Another thing that we had to do was a lesson plan of this worksheet that is prepared by following the ASSURE model's principles and evaluative categories. For me personally, having to come up with creative ways to integrate both corpus and AI into a topic that most of us learnead very traditionally in the past was quite fun and interesting. It was a group work, with me and two of my friends(Tufan and Demirali), have used canva for the design of the worksheet, and utilized Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA) together with genAI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, etc. for the integration of these into the actvities. Preparing all of these was quite challenging, but it went smoother as i spent more time on it. I am pretty sure what me and my friends designed in this worksheet is inclusive in all aspetcs of this topic and would be successful in teaching the students, but nothing can go so smoothly. In the implementation of this activity, learners are required to navigate through COCA, which is notorious for it's complex interface and frequent crashes. Guidelines regarding COCA is provided in the worksheet, but it still remains as a considerable issue as the class time is already limited, with possible missteps in reading the guidelines and website errors might take away from it too much. Regarding AI, my only concern would be that the output it provides definitely should be checked by the instructor for a possible case of "hallucination." That would be all from me regarding the activity, i will leave the worksheet together with the lesson plan down below. This is it for this post, hope to see you soon!

1st Infographic: Cyberbullying

Hey everyone! For our assignment, i had to prepare an infographic regarding  certain topics and i chose to go with cyberbullying (not for a particular reason, i just thought it is an interesting topic to know more of.) This will be my first time ever making one, and it is also my first time to take a deeper look into cyberbullying as well. The whole process of making it was quite fun, interesting, and informational (at least for me.) The program i have used to create the infographic itself is canva. I hope this will help you to get a better grasp of cyberbullying as well.

AR/VR Integrated Lesson Plan: Does Technology Even Have a Limit?

Welcome back everyone! As mentioned in the title, this post is going to be about AR/VR integration into ELT.      For startes, we had to prepare a handout in which we introduced 2 landmarks and 1 museum through AR/VR components and supplementary Skill-spesific activities. Me and my friends (Demirali Kılıç, Tufan Gürültü and Zeynep Yeşildağ) decided to pick Prague, Czech Republic (%99 of it being my influence) for this activity. Prague is a beautiful city with a very rich history behind its every street and building, there were so many beautiful landmarks to choose from but we decided to go with the most popular ones, being the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, and the National Gallery of Prague. We used 360 tour guides from youtube for the first two, and for the Gallery, there is a real-life interactive map of the ENTIRE gallery up to date, which came in very handy and added more depth to our handout. We, of course, prepared a lesson plan according to ASSURE Model'...
