Hi everyone! Today, i'm posting about another assignment, which is visible in the title, about flipped learning. Based from my understanding, it is possible to explain it as an approach to create more room for practice and varied activities in the classroom by moving the "lecturing" part into a homework-like form. Basically, you provide students with videos and materials to go through when they are outside the classroom, and when they come, they already have an idea about the topic that you will now go through in a better way with activities since you no longer need to spend half the time you have lecturing. I think it's a great approach, and i had a lot of fun preparing a video regarding it with my friends. My friends and i have chosen "simple present tense" as our topic and prepared a 5-minute video on canva explaining it. After that, there is a 15-question quiz about simple present tense at the end of the video that we prepared by using WordWall, and an in-class activity which is "jumbled sentences" in the same platform. Preparing the video seemed like a very difficult task at the beginning, but thankfully my friends Zeynep and Tufan are quite familiar with that process which sped things up a lot(we used Canva and Capcut to prepare it, and published it on YouTube.) Handling the content and preparing activities was quite easy and fun in my opinion, having three more people only helped further. Anyways, here are the links to the video, the in-class activity and the lesson plan we prepared. The quiz is on a QR code at the end of the video, which you can scan to access! See you later!
Hello everyone! After around 5 months, I'm back with yet another post, another assignment. This was an assignment for our Current Issues in Teaching class, and as obvious by the title, it was a material preparation task that utilizes Corpus and AI. To explain it briefly, we had to prepare a worksheet that enabled the learners to use corpus and genAI to complete certain tasks about "since" and "for." Another thing that we had to do was a lesson plan of this worksheet that is prepared by following the ASSURE model's principles and evaluative categories. For me personally, having to come up with creative ways to integrate both corpus and AI into a topic that most of us learnead very traditionally in the past was quite fun and interesting. It was a group work, with me and two of my friends(Tufan and Demirali), have used canva for the design of the worksheet, and utilized Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA) together with genAI tools such as ChatGP...
